Here are five things you may want to consider before making the final decision on where you should place your hot tub.

Foundation

Whether you are choosing indoors or outdoors, a solid foundation is essential! An average hot tub can easily weigh over 5,000 pounds! That is a lot of weight! If you are placing your hot tub outside, a concrete pad that is four inches thick and reinforced with steel crossbars is highly recommended. This will help prevent your hot tub from cracking in the future. If you are planning to install your hot tub inside, you should consult with a certified building contractor before installing!

Ventilation

The warm waters of your hot tub are very therapeutic for your body, but not so much for your walls and ceiling. The warm moist air could cause damage to your walls, ceilings and floors. If you plan on having your hot tub in an enclosed area, be sure to have plenty of ventilation! An exhaust fan is highly recommended to help keep all of that warm, moist air circulated.

Privacy

Before you make your final decision on the site of your new hot tub, take a chair out to the spot and sit for a little while.
