If your nose is telling you that something is just not right with your hot tub, trust it! If your water is musty smelling, this is an indication that there is not enough sanitizer in your water. If your hot tub water smells heavily of chemicals, this could mean that your water is too concentrate with sanitizer. The good news is that both can be treated by giving your hot tub a shock treatment.

Another indicator that your hot tub needs a little attention is when it starts to look different. If you look into the eyes of a fellow human being, you can tell when they are not feeling well, when they are sad…etc. The water in your hot tub is very much like the eyes of your hot tub. When the eyes of your hot tub begin to get cloudy or change color, you know that something is off. If your water is starting to look cloudy, check your filter! The cloudiness could be caused by small particles floating about in your water. If this is happening, it may be time to change your filter! When your water is as green as the Chicago River on St. Patrick’s Day, this may be algae. Simply check your pH levels and adjust the chemical levels accordingly.
