When people move to The Villages, it’s because they want to live their retirement dreams. From amazing golf courses to live music, restaurants, movies and events – there’s always something fun to do.
For many, a big part of that dream is turning their new house into the Florida home they’ve always wanted. Often, that includes installing a new in-ground swimming pool. At Florida Spa and Pool Warehouse, everyday we help residents of The Villages choose the pool that’s perfect for their home and lot, and fits within the homeowner’s association – here called the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) – requirements. When you’re ready, our experienced team is ready to help you, too.
Pool Options
We offer both fiberglass and custom concrete pools. What you choose will depend on what you want out of your pool, and your budget.
Fiberglass pools are available in a number of shapes, sizes, and styles so we can help you choose the pool that will fit your yard, your budget and your sense of design. If you’re looking for something more unique, a custom concrete pool may be the best choice for you. We’d love to discuss the possibilities with you.
In The Villages, most people purchase the largest pool that will fit in their yard, within the ARC requirements. Often, this is a pool sized about 9’ by 16’.
Once you’ve selected your pool size and shape, you can begin to add options to create the pool experience you really want. Consider lighting packages, tanning ledges, fountains, deck jets, sheer descents, and other features to turn your pool area into the backyard oasis you’ve always dreamed of.
You’ll also want to choose your sanitization system – saltwater chlorination is very popular in The Villages. It’s gentle on your skin, and typically requires less maintenance. If you’re interested in a traditional chlorine sanitization system, we do offer those as well.
ARC Requirements
Before you can begin installation, your plans must be submitted to the Architectural Review Committee, known as the ARC.
Some things to consider as you’re planning your pool project:
- Pool decking must be 7.5’ from the back of your property, and 5’ from the sides of your property.
- Your pool must also have a safety barrier. If your pool is inside a screen room, that can serve as the safety barrier. If your pool sits completely outdoors, it must be surrounded by a fence, but the fence must be original from the builder.
- The ARC requires that any new construction matches the existing theme of your home.
You will likely find the ARC reasonable and easy to work with. Architectural Review Manuals are available on The Villages resident website, broken down by district, if you’d like specific information.
